"Ponder" the Artful Hare

Located on New Britain in Ormond Beach, FL

25’ long, 8’ wide, and 11’ tall

Located in an open 40’ x 55’ green space visible from a busy local street, Ponder is a living earth sculpture made out of 20 cubic yards of clay and sand with 150 Asiatic jasmine plants, self-oxidizing paint, two 10” diameter reflection balls, and multiple layers of expanded metal sheets held together with copper hog nose rings.

PONDER has had thousands of visitors taking his picture. He was also a stop on the Jeep Beach Scavenger Hunt in 2023.

I did hours of research on what to use to build the head. It has lasted through many hurricanes as the air passes through it.
